William Hare
Partner

William is a generalist whose practice encompasses litigation and insolvency, general corporate work, distressed (or insolvent) investment funds and regulatory advice.

On the contentious side, he has substantial experience of international commercial litigation, contentious insolvency, shareholder disputes, fraud and asset tracing, and trust litigation.  Non-contentious experience includes complex corporate work (transactional, restructuring and general advisory), regulatory work and risk management.  He is the managing partner of the firm and heads the firm’s litigation and insolvency group.

His clients include governments and regulators (within and outside the BVI), financial institutions and corporations, insolvency practitioners, professional trustees, law firms, insurance companies and private individuals.  He serves, or has served, as external counsel/liaison partner to a number of such clients.

William has appeared or acted in many of the leading cases in the BVI in recent years, and has over 15 years' experience of a variety of market sectors.
 
He is also admitted with full audience rights in Anguilla and in St Kitts and Nevis.  In addition to appearing at trial on a number of occasions in those jurisdictions, he has provided expert evidence on various aspects of the laws of those jurisdictions, as well as BVI law, for use in various foreign courts.
