Glenroy Forbes Partner
Glenroy is the firm’s partner responsible for regulatory and local business, and is well acquainted with the regulatory and legislative requirements of business and investment activity in the BVI. His experience is broad-based and encompasses related areas of litigation, in line with the firm’s expertise elsewhere, and non-contentious corporate/commercial advisory work.
Prior to entering into private practice in 2001, Glenroy served as Financial Secretary to successive BVI Governments. He has served as the BVI’s representative within the International Trade and Investment Organisation during negotiations with the OECD and FATF. He was subsequently appointed Chairman of that organisation. For several years, he was the BVI’s Authorising Officer for the European Development Fund, representing the Government of the BVI. He is currently Chairman of the BVI Health Authority, and a Director of the Social Security Board.
Glenroy co-founded Forbes Hare in 2005 and prior to that practised with a large BVI law firm before being recalled to the government to oversee changes in the Ministry of Finance.
Glenroy is also a notary public.
