Forbes Hare launches in the Cayman Islands

Independent BVI law firm, Forbes Hare, has opened an office in the Cayman Islands.

Announcing the launch, corporate partner José Santos commented:

As many of our clients have business interests in both jurisdictions, and – with an increasing number of offshore Caribbean practitioners being qualified in both - it was an obvious step for the firm to take. We have no ambition to be in every offshore jurisdiction, but the synergies between the BVI and Cayman Islands were too strong to ignore.
 
The firm’s transactional workflow has seen a significant increase since the Spring of 2009, and certain markets are definitely experiencing an increase in corporate and commercial activity.  In offering BVI and Cayman Islands legal services on a dual-jurisdictional basis, we feel that we are well placed to service the needs of existing and new clients in two of the world’s leading offshore centres.

Corporate and commercial partner J Barry Smith will initially head the Cayman Islands office which will incorporate his existing general corporate, commercial and property practice.
